When properly executed, the SAE XXXI is proof that high negative
feedback does not equate with bad sound.
The Mk XXXI was designed for only 20dB close loop gain.
To compensate, a discrete preamp before the input differential
is inserted to boost the incoming signal.

Product Description
The SAE Mk XXXI is manufactured between 1976-1981. It appears
to share the same design concept as the earlier Mk IVC, albeit
a scale down version. Strangely, the latter Mk XXXI B bears no
resemblance to the Mk XXXI.
